For those of us that not only lived, but drove through the original muscle car period this 5 Generation has the follow:
Cadillac STS front end
Chevrolet Impala rear end
Roof line of a 2005 Mustang
Wake me up when GM shows some real ***** instead of the BB sized ones they are carefully carrying around in their hands.
Put the R&T version from 2004 on the show room floor, put minimum 425 hp, bring out an SS version that plants an old mans *** to the back of the seat and maybe, just maybe this old school, old timer will saunter to the dealer for a look see and rip *** test run.
Piece, out my 55 year old brothers of the tire shredding era.

Sorry, it wasn't Road and Track it was Popular Hot Rodding. Try this url and take a look at a retro Camaro with now generation roundness to attract the younger generation.

As far as those that say please don't go retro - The 2005 'stang is about as much a '69 Boss 302 as it gets but with todays soft lines. Does it work?????? Numbers don't lie - Yup.
Give me the really retro '69 Camaro with some softer lines. Christ boys, quit wasting away at nites watching Survivor with the wife and take a retro chance in life.
As far as the guy who posted about the '60s muscle cars not being fast by today's standards - well duh. Hell, even with my 30 year old College Egucation I know that a 1970 Hemi Roadrunner with 426 cid and 425 hp could do no more than squeeze out a low 14 in the quarter. My 02 SS without the tricks I added turned 13.1 off the truck (with a little better tire though).
But nothing tops Plum Crazy Purple or Lime Green or Canary Yellow for "true" muscle cars. Now those were the 'distinctive days' when a muscle car stood out as a muscle car.

But even in the pics I, and most everyone I've shown them to, find the front of the concept to be very menacing from most angles. And the 'point' adds to that aggressive appearance. I certainly hope they don't _dull_ the point for production, it's perfect as is.

Ok, I'm wearing my cheaters. Yet another geezer chimes in. I, too, had the experience of the 60's and loved it! Oh, it's name dropping time? I was fortunate to have Herb Adams himself help me tweak my then-new '85 Trans
Am in the driveway of his home in Carmel. Oops, gotta change out the Depends . . . Got the runs, gotta run.

So have you seen the new Camaro in person? Do you like it or not?
Here's what I did to it (from another post):
Alright, I JUST got photoshop so don't give me too hard a time
What I did is what I would do to the car if I bought it right now.I changed the gold bowtie to blue and debadged it (removed the CAMARO from the side).
What do you think?
