Just bought a new GMMG for $60. I was visiting a local wreaking yard and they were unloading new stock. The unloaded a 2001 Z28 and I looked at it before they had a chance to go over it. Needless to say its paid for already and they have no clue what it is they sold because they haven't inventoried the car yet.
Also found a 96 Trans AM with what apears to be the G2 package. Rear control arms have bolt in bracing, throttle body has a airfoil in it and the G2 performance plaque on it. I bought the airfoil and plaque. Should I have got the t-body? And is there any programming diff in the ECM from a Trans AM and One thats equiped with the G2 package?

95 Formula Firebird, mild cam ( specs unknown), stock exhaust mani's, stock exhaust cross over, high fliw cat, magnaflow 3in cat back,4l60e, 2500-2800 stall, 373 auburn posi, 2pt welded subframe connectors, boxed stock rear control arms, full Polly bushings, KYB Gas A Just shocks, stock front springs, Monroe cargo rear springs, unknown PCM tuning.
"G2" was used to identify aftermarket parts sold by LG Motorsports, often over-priced. You could buy a decal, you could buy the control arms, etc. I bought their 4-pt shock tower brace, and a shift ****. The had some "packages" of parts, like suspension - I have a copy of some of their sales literature from the mid 90's.
I don't think they offered PCM tuning. They also sold a package called the Z29 for the Camaro. In any case, G2 is simply a source of aftermarket parts, not a "model" of any F-Body, and not authorized or supported by GM.
