want to replace stock speakers, can it be done?

Post want to replace stock speakers, can it be done?

i want to replace my door speakers and the ones for the backseat, i know there both 4" and crappy, but i dont know how to swap them with some 4" ones from like best buy, b/c the connections look different,can someone tell me how to do this if it can be done by an ameteur! thanx

Replacing speakers is really simple, all you need to do is cut the connectors off and crimp some female spade terminals to the ends of the wires. Then slip them onto the speaker terminals and you're good to go.

13.5 years since he asked the question - and "stangspank" hasn't signed into this site in 11.5 years.

Hard to understand why he even tried to use the "stock" speakers, when he describes his system as:

Kenwood CD deck w/ Remote
Massive 600 watt amp
2 12" Cerwin Vegas
In any case, hopefully he's figured it out by now.

In any case, hopefully he's figured it out by now.
That's hilarious, I didn't even catch the date it was posted. It was just one of the related or recommended threads. At any rate, I was wondering why he needed help with speakers considering the other stereo equipment as well.
