Anyone know a good shop to bring my newly acquired 94 Formula LT1 to inspect some squeaks and look over the car. I have a rubbing/grinding sound coming from the back. It sounds almost like a brake rubbing...not loud a all, just annoying.
Also the suspension has some slop too.
thanks,
Dan

Could be the tranny mount has gone bad, letting the tailshaft lift during acceleration. Does it do it just 'sometimes'?

The noise is always there the faster I roll the faster the sound.
I bought the car from a young guy, I noticed it has Slotted Rotors on the back.
I have inspection for the car. If I bring it to a shop for them to look will they give me a Fail inspection even though I just got my inspection sticker today?
I don't want them to do an official inspection, I just want them to inspect it....sound funny? Lol.

You can't fail an inspection unless you actually bring it in to get a NYS inspection. Just tell them what the symptoms are and ask them to take a look at it. Ask them to give you a call if it requires any significant work.

I listen to the "Car Doctor" Ron Ananian, on the radio on Sundays from 10am to 12noon on 710 AM in New York. He sometimes mentions a very dependable shop located in Staten Island. I've never been there but this is their info:
Name: TOTAL CONCEPT AUTO REPAIR INC 625 New Dorp Ln, Staten Island, NY 10306. They are located off Hylan Blvd.
