What do people think of DFI. What are the pro's/con's of DFI in a daily driven "street car"..Boost Fbody.

looking into the Gen7, what do people think of it.

Any input would be great..

I have it and love it. Its a very nice system, you can smoth out 3D graphs for a better drivability then Lt1 edit. Good luck and make sure you get someone that really knows how to tune with one.

I have it. I really like it. Makes tuning a breeze. 2 seconds to switch between race program and street program. Also be sure to get DFI version 4.0. It has a few new features that are going to make driveability much better. The biggest is the PE (Power Enrichment) function. Essentialy you can set your AF table to whatever you want say 14-1 then at a set % of throttle opening it will automatically switch to a richer AF like 12.8-1 or what ever you want.

What can it do for driveability?

And, what is the best size injectors to run on the steet, 75's?

The biggest thing is I can set my entire street tune to a leaner air/fuel ratio. This way uder part throttle conditions I can run, even at zero vacuum, closer to 13.5 to 14-1 instead of 12.5 which is where I run my standard AF table on the old DFI software. Now I can set starting at 30% throttle opening to go to a default AF ratio of whatever I want (I set mine to 11.8). That way if I do get frisky on the street and I get into boost it automatically richens the mixture.

As far as injector sizes, opinions will vary. I run 48lb Accel units and have had good luck with them. Job Spetter from TurboPeople tuned my car initially and he said they are almost maxed at top end but unless I add more boost they are perfectly sufficient.

You can't use a MAF sensor with a DFI system. For that matter a MAF is not used in any aftermarket system such as FAST or DFI, not unless you go into some real exotic systems such as MOTEC, even then they too are pretty much speed density systems. A MOTEC system that would accept a MAF sensor would cost you well over $5k for just the box, and tuning them are another issue as they are not nearly as user friendly as a FAST, DFI or the new Big Stuff3 systems.

A DFI system will allow you to tune your car on and offline and is easily tunable. A lot depends on your mods to your car. They can be installed with a piggy back harness which keeps your PCM in place allowing for full dash functionality. Also the stock PCM takes care of transmission functions leaving fueling strategy to the DFI box. You can do the same thing with a FAST box, but the DFI has much more advanced control strategys.
