Widest Rear Tires On A 7.5 Rim

i have some serious issues hooking up. what are the widest tires I can fit on a 7.5 rim on a 94 z? possibly a 265? wider would be sweet.

any opinions?

245 maybe? I woould hope you have problems hooking up with such a narrow wheel. Ebay is a good place for cheap 17x9 wheels.

You have to specify the diameter of the wheel as well..... what section width tire fits correctly on a 15x7.5" wheel is going to be different than what you can fit on an 18x7.5" wheel. It would also depend on the aspect ratio of the tire you are considering.... eg - 245/50-16, 255/40-18, etc.

16x7.5

I don't think I would have much of a problem fitting my 245/50's on there, but I'd like to see if I could squeeze at least a 265

Better yet.....Just buy some softer compound tires and do the relavent suspension mods.

17's won't help you. A shorter side wall is giong to decrease traction more than the wider tread patch will increase it.

You aren't going to find a decent "high performance" tire wider than 255 in a 16" diameter. 255/50-16 will work on wheels 7" - 9" wide. I saw someone claiming he found a 265 drag radial somewhere, to is might be worth some research.
