Wheels not fitting?!?

So I bought 4 used 98+ camaro 5 star wheels off ebay. 1 was messed up (i knew before auction) so i went ahead and mounted my new kumhos on 2 of the good ones and put them on the front (steel was showing haha). the other day i went to rotate my wheels, putting the front 5 star wheels in the back and they wouldn't fit over the hub right?! I know lt1 and ls1 axles and hubs are all the same, so why would they fit on the front fine but not the rear? they weren't made for f or r. i noticed on the salad shooters, where it meets the hub on the center of the wheel its flat, and on the 5 stars its angled in, like the lugs are angled. they just wouldn't go on all the way like they should. any ideas?

Re: Wheels not fitting?!?

there should be a small lip on wheel that goes over the hub if you flip the wheel over, in the center...you have to grind that lip off with a dremmel to get it over on the back hub.

Actually, they aren't.

What year is your car? 93 to late 96 F-Bodys have a larger hub diameter on the rear axles than they have in the front. This was changed in late 96 so that the front and rear hubs are the same diameter (as the front hubs were on the earlier cars). Putting "late model" wheels on an "early model" car will typically result in the problem you have.

The answer to your question is actually covered in the FAQ stickied at the top of the Wheels and Tire forum topics list.
