Wheel choice for my 96. ???

Hey guys, new to this site, bare with me. Just got a 96 SS and am wanting new wheels tires. I'm thinkin of the 15'' WELD Draglites. I love the drag car look but will be using the car for cruising and maybe road trips here and there. I know I'd have to grind the calipers a tad but my question is: if I go with a 8 or 9 wide up front what offset should I do, I'd like for the tire to be even with the fender, not stick out whatsoever. For the rear, I'd like to do 10 wide, what offset should I do to where they are even with the fender and not beyond it? Plus What tire should I choose for an aggressive look but long lasting.? Thanks in advance.

There are answers to your questions in the Wheels & Tires FAQ - Drag Wheels, linked at the top of the Wheel & Tire topics page:

Weld dimensions there wheels with backspace. The 10" Draglites and Prostars require a 7.5" backspace. The 8" wides require a 5.5" backspace. In the front, that will put the tire very close to being outside the fender. You will also have to use a 5/16" spacer in the front, which requires longer studs. All covered in the FAQ.

There was a post a couple weeks ago of 10" Draglites with a 6.5" backspace, and they appeared to fit under the rear fender, but it seems odd, since my Formula required the 7.5" backspace.

PS: You have to be a bit patient waiting for a response. There isn't a lot of traffic on this forum. We generally ask that you wait at least 24 hours before pushing your post back to the top.
