What psi am i supposed to go to?

I have gforce kdsw's that say max 44psi. I was wondering what psi i should go to cold. I usually do 35psi. My gas mileage is like 13-14mpg so im looking to improve something here. Ive heard somewhere that you should go to the max on cold.

So would like 41psi be a better choice than 35 at least for the rear wheels or should i got 44?

What size are the tires? How do they compare to the tire size that was used for the tire pressure label on the door edge?

The "max 44psi" value is the pressure required for the tire to achieve its maximum load carrying capacity. The typical wide tire sizes used on 4th Gens are loaded nowhere near maximum load. Hence, you do not need 44psi, and should not use 44psi. That will bulge out the center of the tread and cause the center of tread to wear excessively fast. Definitely reduce traction. Might save you fuel mileage, but you'd spend the money you saved replacing the tires.

If your car had the Z-rated tires on it from the factory, it will have a label recommending 35psi for maximum speed rating.

With the stock tire sizes (245/50-16) I had good results with 34-36psi. With wider tires, you may see better results with slightly lower pressures.... with 275/40-17's I ran anywhere from 32-36psi, and with the 315/35-17 drag radials 30-32psi.
