Wanting to get aftermarket wheels NEED ADVICE

Hi everyone,
I have a 94 camaro base 3.4L. I'm looking at taking the old wheels off and updating to some 5 spoke or 6 spike wheels. I think ive read the bolt pattern is 5x120.65 or 5x120.7. I believe the car has 16 from factory. Ive recently received this car and been working on it running. Anyways every wheel I find that I like is either 17" or larger. I don't want to roll fenders or anything. I don't want to do no spacer or nothing. Just a good swap and all. I guess my question is how big of a wheel and tire can I go with any scrubbing or modifications? Also a tire size that will go along with each size. I trying to keep stock as I can and just a little bit of more of an eye catcher. This is my late brother-in-laws so I'm trying to stay close to original.

96, 97 SS ZR1 style wheels installed on SLP modified cars are 17x9 with +50 mm offset. Work best with 275/40 17 tires plus with a square setup you can rotate the wheel/tire assemblies for better tire wear.

Shod with BF Goodrich g-force Comp 2 tires 275/40 17, 3 years old. If you are driving distance to Knoxville TN, wheels, tires, lugs and center caps are for sale. 10k miles on tires. Wheels are polished aluminum.

The correct bolt pattern is 5 x 4.75” = 5 x 120.65mm.

There are very few tire choices in 16” wheels. Even 17” tires are getting harder to find. Whether you opt for 17’s or 18’s, the important thing is to maintain the tire outside diameter equal to the tires that came stock on your car. The sticker on the driver's door will tell you what was on there when it left the factory. Changing the TIRE diameter can require correcting the tire size in the PCM (computer) to maintain the speedometer accuracy.

Have you looked at the Wheels & Tires FAQ in this forum?

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/whe...topics-312442/

The diameter of the wheel will not affect whether the tire rubs on the chassis. That is determined by the WIDTH of the wheel and the OFFSET of the wheel. We have written several articles in the FAQ explaining all of this. There's also info on my street setup, ripunning 17 x 9.5”, 56mm offset in the front with 275/40-17 and 17 x 11”, 50mm offset in the back with 315/35-17 tires. That's about as big as you can go in the back, and does require a few modifications.
