CenterLine wheel question, Injuneer.

I found these wheels on Centerlines webpage, that I like real well. I would get the 17x9 1/2 all a round on these. I know I need the 7" backspace on the rear, but would the front need the same backspace? (I figure it does, make it easier to rotate, but didn't know for sure) If you don't care can you look at these to make sure they will fit ok. http://www.centerlinewheels.com/whee...ehicle&data=1#

That (7" BS) is the same dimension they use on the Torque Thrust II 17x9.5's. That means the front wheels will fit just like the ones in this T/A:

The rear wheels will be sunk in about 3/4" more than the 17x11's on that car.

So is this about the size I need? And would the 275/40/17 be the right size tire for these wheels to fill the same space my 245/50/16 do? Thanks in advance.

Re: CenterLine wheel question, Injuneer.

Yes... 275/40-17 is the correct tire size for the 17x9.5" wheel. I ran those on my OZ Monte Carlo's (all 4 corners) and now running them in the front on my ZR1/GS replicas. You could also do a 285/40-17.

The backspace is good. I had some 15x9.5" CenterLines for my ET Streets many years ago, but I can't remember what the backspace was. You have to decide if you like the fronts where they are on the T/A in the picture.

A 7" backspace means the "frontspace" is 3.5". Here is a 3.0" frontspace (front wheels only) - your wheels will stick out about 1/2" more in the front:

Here is a 3.3" frontspace - your wheels will stick out about 0.2" more than these (front and back):

If I plan or rotating they will have to be the same size backspace, right? I can't realy see much difference in the pictures. Thanks again.

Heres an old pic of my car with Centerline Sabre's 17x9.5 and 6.5" backspacing just a FYI

If you get them all with 7" back spacing they will be the same all around.
