Torque Thrust II sizing question. Injuneer please help.
Need help on which ones of these to get as far as back spacing goes. I'm looking at getting 16x8 up front and 17x11 or 17x9 1/2 out back. Will there be a problem with the 11's. Will they fit with no problems. Here's the ones I'm looking at. (Is ther any place on-line cheaper then this?) http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/listp...s.asp?cat=1013

17x9.5 -4 3/4 - 7in backspacing
17x11 -4 3/4 - 7 3/4in backspacing
those are what you would want. no sure about the 16's. why not go 17 all around 9.5 front 11 rear
i have 18x10 all around 4 3/4 7 1/4in backspacing

I like the look of the smaller front wheel bigger back wheel. Plus I have a new set of Cooper Cobra's 245/50/16.
So I beleive I will stick with the 16x8 in front.

Those backspacings Streamline posted are the ones I am familiar with, and I think they are what is on this car:

I assume you would want the 16x8 front wheels located similar to the ones on that car, or maybe inset just slightly. My calculations show that a 16x8 wheel would need a 5.5" backspace, to sit just about where the wheels are on Kelly's T/A. However, to me that seems like they are a little toward the outside, and with only a narrow 16x8, it might look like an "outrigger" (the way my Weld Pro-Start skinnies fit, and I don't like the look at all). An alternative would be a 6" backspace on the 16x8 wheel. That would put the fronts in about 1/2" further than those on the T/A in the picture.

Thanks, guys. So i Shouldn't have any problems with the 11's? What would be the best size tire to get for the 11's to fit the car without having to lower or raise it? 285, 295, 315 what series 35, 40, 45

315/35-17. You might need to hammer the inner fenders, cut off the edge of the jounce bumper bracket, but I doubt it. You have almost 1/4" more clearance than my ZR1/GS 17x11's.
You might also have to gently roll the inner edge (lip) of the fender opening so it doesn't point straight out at the side of the tire. You just push it up so it points up rather than out. You need to cut the paint at the edge of the lip, so that if it cracks, the crack stops at the cut, and doesn't extend outside to the fender. There are a couple of tools made to bend the lip, or some people are able to do it by rolling a baseball bat between the tire and the lip.

I am looking at buying some 17x11 TT 2's for the rear of my 95 T/A. The seller said the Backspace measured 6 5/8. He said it was measured from the mounting flange to the inner lip of the wheel. Is that where to measure them? Will these look good or should I pass? Help!

Backspace is correctly measured from the face of the mounting surface that sits against the axle hub, to a straightedge placed across the outermost edge of the wheel. This includes the tire bead reataining flange. Typically, the flange is in the range of 0.45" - 0.50" wide.
The correct offset is 45mm = (approx) 1.75".
Wheel width, measured INSIDE the trie bead retaining flange = 11.0". One half of width = 11.0 / 2 = 5.5"
Assume retaining flange is 0.50" wide
Backspace = 1/2 wheel width + offset + flange
Backspace = 5.5 + 1.75 + 0.50 = 7.75"
That is the TT II wheel that fits a 4th Gen, per the picture I linked of the black T/A.
