Ive only ran nittos myself, and was very impressed with the improved traction over normal radials. It was enough to blow 2nd gear out of my transmission! well, finish it off anyway

I believe the general consensus is that nittos last longer, but BFGs hook better.

so, for only street use (somtimes.., and track use, i should go with the BFG's, how many runs do u think that i can make on these tires, and is there a LOT of diff. between the two sets?

With your mods you should be ok with either of them. Though if you dont run them on the street besides just going to the track id say the BFG's for sure.

Re: BFG Comp TA DR vs. Nitto 555R DR

Since the tires going to be used for the track mainly I would go with the BFG's. I feel they bite better than the Nittos(I ran both). But the Nittos would be best if you were mainly using it on the street.I read in a mustang mag they got 17k miles on a set of Nittos.
In the FFW and NMRA drag radial classes all the serious cars run BFG's. Big Daddy Dwayne Guttridge ran 7.9 in has notchback 'stang on BFG's.
Mickey Thompson now has a drag radial. But I have'nt heard how they hook up.
