tire info

i have some torq thrust 17x9.5 on my 95 z28. (doesnt see any snow or rain ever) i am running some 275/40zr17 coopers (cheap) they only lasted about 15k and they break traction very easy. like a quarter on the gas and the rears are spinning.

my question is, should i be running zr rated tires? should i go with a
"top quality" tire this time? why should i get nitto tires at $250/each when i can get $99/each rikken?

the car doesnt see the track, is a daily street driver, and sees some hard starts sometimes.

recomend me a tire!

Go to Tire Rack and use the "search by size" option. Put in the 275/40-17 size, and you will get a list of all the tires they sell, with prices. You should be able to find a table comparing "user feedback" data for all of the tires, and one of the things that is rated is tread life. Look for the highest rated tread life, in the price range you want to pay. But also look at things like dry traction, wet traction, cornering, braking performance, etc., so you fully understand the tradeoffs of low cost and extended treadlife.
