Question for all those running skinny's in the fronts

Thinking about selling my z06 rims in for a a set of weld wheels. How is the handling with skinnys up in front. I know the z06 rims handle allot better because they are a wider tire. But is the handling around turns, corners very bad with skinnys?? It's basically a street car - No track. Like the way it looks on a car and plus weight of the rims and traction. Is it worth it or should I just keep the z06 rims?

Define "skinnies". Are you talking about something like a 26x4.5-15 "front runner" type tire? If so, not recommended for street driving, and marked on the sidewall is no legal for street use. They develop no cornering power at all.

Left: 275/40-17 BFG KDW on a 17x9.5" ZR1 wheel
Right: 26x4.5-15 Moroso DS-2 on a 15x3.5" Weld PRo-Star

Saves a lot of weight, but not useful for the street.

Yeah something like you have in your pictures. I just did not want to sell my z06 rims and give up handling. I was hoping the front runners had some kind of handling for around corners. I guess I will just keep what I got - Thanks for the help - Mike
