Goodyear F1 GS-D3 245/50/16 pressure/handling

Hello.

I've recently had these put on the car.

Previously I had the pirelli p7000ss in stock size also.

At 30 psi, the goodyear tires seem considerably softer than the pirellis they replaced.

For those of you also running this tire [in stock size], what pressure you running them at?

You'll be a little happier at 32-35.

Chris,

Thanks for the info, I'll bump it up some and see how things change.

The other thing, I had the car on the highway today. At speeds of 70mph+, I'm feeling a rhythmic vibration. Similar to how the car felt when I had the steel driveshaft on a few years ago. Since switching to the aluminum DS, the vibes went away [with the old tires].

Sounds like a balance prob?

when I had those tires I ran them at 35. Tried to make them last longer. I got about 18k on those tires before they were toast. Beautiful handeling though, just can't afford it now.

Re: Goodyear F1 GS-D3 245/50/16 pressure/handling

I tried a longer highway run today (~100 miles). The vibes are definitely there at 65+. I will give it a week or so, see if things change any after some more miles. If not I'll have 'em rebalanced. It's not too bad, nowhere as annoying as the DS was, but with the radio off it can be heard & felt.

As for pressure, I tried 33/32 (f/r), and that helped somewhat, ride harsher now. I will have to find a happy medium for ride quality & responsiveness.

(all #'s above are cold tire pressures).
