Fitting 305 45 18's on a 9.5 inch rim

Im looking for new DR'S, and since ive got 4.11's, Im thinking about going to a taller tire. Ive got 285 35 18 555r's now. How will going from a 35 to a 45 effect my gearing? Its really steep right now with the 4.11's and am thinking I can compenate slightly by going to a taller tire. What about the 305's fitting on a 9.5 inch rim? Ive seen 315's on 9.5" inch rims, but dont want to go that wide. Overall, will these fit on the back w/o needing to clearance the wells? How will the taller tre size effect my mph in each gear?

The main concern with that tire is the size of it. Its 28.78" tall. 28" tall tires sometimes have a hard time fitting in the wheel wells of an F-Body so I can only imagine how much working it would take for that tire to fit in there. I put some on a Marauder, they were huge. As far as your gearing, I believe this site has one, or you can do a google search for Ring and pinion or rear end gear ratio calculators, there are tons out there. You also have to think about how much a street car it is, and how much of a track car it is. Lots to consider. Hope this helped some!

That tire will make your 4.11's feel like a set of 3.69's (if they made them) compared to your current tires. But its a huge tire as pointed out in the post above. I run 28" slicks and had to cut the bumper cover. You won't have growth problems with a radial, but it isn't going to be easy.

What If if were to run a 305 35 18 on a 9.5 inch rim? Would I need to roll the fenders? Is a 305 too wide for this rim? What about 295's?

The Nitto 555R requires a 10.0" wide wheel. But the Nittos tend to be a bit narrower than the size would appear to indicate. Whether that is specifically true of the 305/35 I don't know. I'd GUESS it would be OK on a 9.5" wide wheel, since a lot of people put the Nitto 315/35-17 on a 9.5" wide wheel with no problems.

A 295 typically requires a 10.0" wide wheel as well.

I don't think you would have to roll the fenders if you put what is typically a narrower than rated tire on a narrower than recommended wheel. But no one can answer the question without knowing the offset of the wheels. The closer your wheels are to a 50mm offset, the less problems you will have with tire clearance to the fenders.
