Clearance issues on my 96
Clearance issues on my 96
alright so I just bought some 315/35/17 Nitto NT555R's to throw on the back of my 96 Z but have run into to clearance issues i bought some 5/16 inch wheel spacers but now the studs are to short to get the lugs on...but its still really not looking like its goin to clear...the tires are on ZR1's by the way....just looking for other peoples input on this...thanks
Did you need the spacers? Depending on the offset, you should be able to fit 315s in the back, with minimal "pounding" on the wheel well, and a possible fender lip roll. If you need to run the spacers, just get some longer wheel studs.
There's a post in the FAQ stickied at the top of the forum topic listing. Has all the info you need to handle the 17x11 315/35 setup in the back. Very few people (if any) use spacers, because it just moves the interference from the inside fender liner to the outside fender lip, and puts the outside edge of the tire outside the body. If you have the correct 50mm offset wheels, the spacer should not be required, although a bit of light hammering the inner fenders, and cutting the projecting edge off the jounce bumper bracket may be necessary.
