Re: best front wheel offset??17x9.5

There's an FAQ "stickied" at the top of the "Wheels and Tires" forum topic listing. Open that, and scroll down to the "17x11 Wheels on a 4th Gen" post. All the info you need regarding the the offsets for the 17x9.5" and 17x11" wheels is in that post, with pictures or links to pictures.

Of course I'm only ASSuming you have a 4th Gen, since you do not have any info regarding your car in the question. Might want to add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, tranny, major mods. That way you increase the chances of getting the correct answer.

Re: best front wheel offset??17x9.5

Did you read the post in the FAQ? It tells you what offsets will work for the 9.5" wide front wheels, and what offset you need for the 11" wide rear wheels.

On any page, look at the top left corner of the screen. There is a button for "User CP". Click that. On the next screen, top left there is a list under "Control Panel". Click on "Edit Signature". That will give you a box where you type the info you want included at the bottom of each post.

Re: best front wheel offset??17x9.5

I'm running 17x9.5 AFS ZR1's on the front in a +56mm offset.

As suggested in the FAQ, the allowable range is +38mm to +56mm. The +38mm offset puts the wheel/tire at the reasonable outer limit for location (without interference with the outer fender) and the +56mm is at the inner limit for location (without interference from the suspension components).

The choice, from +38 to +56 is basically how you prefer the look.

I prefer the +56mm, as they are tucked-in nicely and look like a factory wheel placement. OTOH, from what I've seen, the +38mm 17x9.5's more closely match the appearance of larger (i.e. 17x11) rears.

If you're going 17x9.5 on all fours... pick whichever you prefer the looks of.

And just so ya know, the difference between +38mm and +56mm is, naturally, 18mm... which is only 0.7"

Re: best front wheel offset??17x9.5

I'm running 17x9.5 +56mm fronts, and 17x11 +50mm rears. That's a popular combo, but like I said, something closer to +38mm on the front may look better - the choice is yours. As for the 17x11 rears, +50mm is your only option, and this is refered to as the Grand Sport offset (the Corvette GS used wheels with this offset). The true ZR1's (as used on the Corvette ZR1) use a +36.5mm offset (IIRC) and will NOT work.

Read Injuneer's posts in the FAQ - it tells you everything you need to know, and are a must-read. That's why they're in the FAQ.

I'm just about to the point where I'm going to delete the FAQ's. Definitely not going to write any more, because no one seems to take the time to read them, or if they do read them, they still don't understand. I just can't make them any clearer than they are.
