255's and 285's

Who here is running 255/40/17 fronts and 285/40/17 rears on 17x9.5 wheels all around? Also, is it worth it to go with a staggered set up like that, or just go 275's all around? The car will be 95% street driven, with maybe a trip or two to the strip. Im looking at either Eagle F1 GS-D3's or BFG KDW's prolly. I like the idea of the staggered set up so there isnt so much rut following and the steering isnt quite as heavy, but the ability to rotate would be nice also. Plus, would 255's look weird on a 9.5 rim?

just do 275's all around. the main reason people go staggard is because wheel widths differ and the wider rear doesnt fit on the fronts...you have the same width, why put different sizes if 275s will fit up front?

I responded to this on fbody.com. Wrong size tires in the front.... too small a diameter and too narrow for a 9.5" wide wheel - at least if you picked the correct 245/45-17 size. You want a 255/45-17 at least, in the front.

Thats what I said, 255's in front, but yeah, youre right 45 aspect ratio would be correct. I guess this is a moot subject though, ill either be going with 275's all around with 17x9.5 ZR1's or going staggered with C5 Y2k rims.

But 255/40-17 is not correct. You need 255/45-17's.
