Re-build (Waco, TX)
Re-build (Waco, TX)
I've decided to go with having Elliott Portworks do my head porting and intake porting. Instead of the LT4's I've decided to just have a pair of LT1's ported along with a stock intake. I was told that the LT4 heads just have bigger valves and if I did have them ported that the valves would be way too big and I wouldn't see the gains I'd see if I just had my LT1 heads ported...so...
The LT1 ported heads will be running ~200cc at ~275/190 for $1,200. The LT1 intake will be ported to accept a 58mm TB for $100. Instead of going with the CC306 I was advised to go with the Xtreme 230/236 cam, which I was told is a much more 'streetable' cam. It powers from ~1500 all the way up to 6500 rpm's. About .112 lobe separation from .540 - .560. Comp Cam R Magnum 1.6 riller rockers will still be used and Lloyd, for $1200, will be adding everyhting else to the heads to make them a simple bolt-on after he's done.
Elliott also provides a bench test, one for the stock LT1 heads I'm sending and one for the ported LT1 heads when he's done. I'm supposed to find hp from 360-380rw after all is said and done.
Anyone like this set up?
