Welcome to SA. We have two tracks here:

http://www.sanantonioraceway.com/

and

http://www.alamodragway.com/

Illegal racing takes place at ?

San Antonio Raceway is (I think) a lot better to run at. What side of town did you move to?

Also, the F body club meets up at Sonic off I 10 and Dezavala at 8PM. I am pretty sure you are welcome to come out.

im actually going to school here, st. marys. any of you here. its located on culebra rd. i guess its located on the west side but not sure if you would consider it that. its fairly close to I 10 on one side and 410 on the other. what track gives better traction, where do most go to. what do most LT1's run? what car clubs in san anton. looking to get into one if possible. left the one back home.

Like I said before SA F-body association.

SAR or San Antonio Raceway is were most go. I ran my lt1 ss out there and ran a best of 14.2. it was not feeling good that night but traction is better out there then at alamo.

Welcome, I live a couple miles down the road from St. Mary's so I'm down that way alot. As Ryan (SSmokem) said, SA F-bodies meet on Tuesday at Sonic on I-10 and DeZavala. Great group with a lot of knowledge. Stay away from the street racing scene, cops here love to make busts and the penalities now aren't worth it. Welcome to SA you're going to have a blast at St. Mary's.

San Antonio Raceway is the only way to go IMO. Alamo is very old and run-down. It's in desparate need of an overhaul. Bang-for-the-buck I think SAR is better. But if you are short on cash and don't want to make the drive, Alamo does give you a time slip at the end just like SAR...

Just my $.02 of rambling..

The only thing better about Alamo is that it traps around 3 mph higher than SAR, and is $5 less to race. If you care about either of those.
But besides that it sux. Last time I was there, there were ruts in the staging area, like 3 different kinds of concrete, and killer mosquitoes.
Go to SAR.
