Nathan with that kind of experience you shouldn't have a problem finding a job. Your best bet is to put up a resume on monster.com. The last several jobs I've gotten have been from there. I know you will find something soon.

you would think

The problem is I value morals and this company had zero. I hope I find somrthing by Monday or I may be sleeping with the dogs! ( not a bad thing since they are both inside dogs). My wife is the District Manager here in S.A. for Manpower (temp agency). Hopefully she finds me something.

venting--- What has the world come to that we can throw our values and morals out the door to make a few extra bucks? This was never a problem living in Iowa for 25 years but these last 5 years in Texas ( 4 in Brownsville and 1 here) have been horrible. And dont say move back to Iowa, cuz I would never do that, I love San Antonio but WTF?!! I need to find a company that has the same values as I do. Kinda hard to find those here (old fashion values. Hard work = Good work.

I'm sure you can find a place like that but the pay will suck. You know how that goes, you either have a job that pays a lot and you hate it or you have a job that you love that doesn't pay anything. I'm glad you are one of those people who do value morals over the almighty buck. More companies should take notice of employees like you and make an effort to return to the honest ways of business and in the end I'm sure they would see a larger return and a more dedicated consumer base. Greed kills, and unfortunately it's running business right now.

ucrazymonkey, sorry to hear about you losing your job. That sucks man. it's happned to me once before too. I worked in a factory for 8 years, and decided to quit one day and put myself in a training class for a few wwwks and now I'm a tech for the neursurgical ICU at one of Cincinntai's best hospitals. I know that I do great work, and pay nothing. But I want to love my job, otherwise it was never worth leaving something I knew how to do. And in the position I am in, I get so many complimentsm, etc that I have no worries about ever finding a new job. My boss is giving me a great referral, and when I move back in 2004 I already have my job back. So, don't fret to long over the job thing. Someone will recognize your great strengths and qualities, and then you'll have to turn around and beg them to let you leave one day! haha. Good luck no the job search. Keep your head up.

With your Chemistry, OSHA and Management skills, I'm sure you could probably get a good paying job with one of the local high-tech companies. Two of them that come to mind in SA are Sony and VLSI.

Good luck

thought about moving to Houston....????
My brother worked for malcolm pernie there for a while and my dad works for Shell company...they are both really proffesional companies to work for....
my brother as a civil eng, did alot of environmental work for them
and my dad as a chem. eng does alot of research for Shell and product/contract work...
I think that with your credentials you could fit in fine there and the pay in both is really good...
both companies are always expanding and I am sure you could get a job there easy!
Good luck,
Rick

employment

I just bought a new house in August so I think I will be here for awhile. Luckly my wife makes a butt load of money or this would be a major problem. Right now its just I need to find something in my fields to get me by. She has cut the funds off the car right after my head and header install though
