Actually they are different - here is a quick webpage I put up that shows the difference in LT1, LS1, and Impala MAF's - I don't have the data handy for the exact truck transfer function, but it is different.

This doesn't mean it will not run - and depending on the rest of the setup may run better (probably not though - probably would be better with the stock MAF) - but you are effectively skewing the MAF output now.
