Weird staring problem with my 01 Camaro
I have an 01 Camaro that has a wierd starting problem. The car always turns over easily, but it just won't start that well. I usually have to turn the key back and then turn it again to get the car started. The problem only seems to happen when its warm or hot outside. On cool mornings the car seems to start fine.
I have owned the car since new and it only has 29K on it. I have always changed the oil every 3k. I replaced the fuel filter with a FRAM one three days ago and the car still has the same problem. Is it my fuel pump? I hope not because I heard you have to drop the rear axle to get at the gas tank! one shop already quoted me three to four hunderd dollars for this job!
Any thoughts on this?

Only thing I can think is that you have a manual so "maybe" because you have to push in the clutch before you can start the engine their might be something wrong that's temperature sensitive and causing this problem.
If you still have a warrenty I'd see what the dealer says.

You might have a leaky injector. When the car sits for a bit, with pressure in the fuel rail, the injector will leak down and flood the engine (only a little). Also the initial pressure in the fuel rail will be released. When this happens, you have to crank it a few seconds to clear the excess fuel out of the engine, and it takes a couple of seconds for the fuel pressure to come back up too.
