Hey what's up, I'm from Wilmington too! Slap another battery in there and see if it still does it. You could have a short or something or the gauge could be just screwed up.

Play around with it a litte and see if anything get's the gauge out of the red.

Is it in the red when on Accessory? Could be a alt. problem.

ibanez6rg thanks for the reply. ok i checked out the battery its good. i think when the key is in the acc spot it still jumps up but its snowin kinda hard so ill have to look tomarrow to make sure. im thinkin it might be the alt. from time to time the gauge will go down a little under the red but that doesn't last long. anyway how much am i lookin at for a new alt, and would i b able to put it on my self or should i take it to a shop. is there anything else it could b before i go get a new alt.

ibanez6rg what part of wilm u from, cant b to far wilm's not that big, thanks 4 the help.

The alternator is easy to replace, took me maybe 10-15min in my 3.4. I got mine at AutoZone for around $80. You can take it out and take it in there and they will check it out to see if it's working for free.

Hook a voltmeter up to the alt. and you can see what it's really putting out, incase your gauge is not working.

The Wilmington thing, I'm from Wilmington, Ohio.
Otherwise I would come over and help ya out!
