Which year and engine do you have?

All 3.4's you wouldn't need to because they are already a series 3 carrier. But on auto 3.8's you would.

Which year?

look for these codes to be sure......
GU80 = posi
GU2 = 2.73(only V8s)
GU4 = 3.08
GU5 = 3.23
GU6 = 3.42(came with Y87 option)

I thought the 2002 were coming with 3.42's but that is possibly wrong. Check on that I am not 100% sure on that with the 2002.

If they are the same as the other 3.8's a manual 3.8 has 3.23's and no if you were moving up to a 3.73 you wouldn't need a new carrier, they are both series 3.
