V6 to LT1 V8 conversion..?

anybody have info on doing this..?
wanna put an LT1 in a 94-97 v6 car..and I don't wanna reinvent the wheel on this..LOL

I have a 'slightly' wrecked 94 T/A..but it's expensive to get frame work and
all done..
I wanted to get a roller or high mileage LT1 car and put my motor and trans in it..
but everyone thinks their 100,000+ mile beat to crap car is worth
$10,000
so, I'm lookin' to do a v6 car..which can usually be picked up for cheap..

Thanks Ahead for any info!
Matt

D@mn Matt..... haven't seen you here for at least 2 years. Welcome back.

There's a thread "stickied" to the top of the V6 Tech forum covering V6-->??? engine swaps.

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=150164

I'll move your post to that forum.

Im doing a swap in my 1996 3.8 Camaro. Im dropping in a 96 LT1. Ive found that sticking with the same year really really helps and makes things a Million times smoother. Find a car thats the same year as yours and it should go pretty smooth. I have a daily driver 3.4 car and it would have been a hell of a lot easier to put the LT1 in there rather than in my 3.8. But my 3.8 had a blown engine so thats the car I did the swap in. Let me know if you have questions. Im almost done with mine.

Yo KEv..!
nope the red 97 T/A is 'not' wrecked..it's unstreetable though..
shoe horning a 525 BBC into it first of March..Glide with a Gear Vendor..
Dana S60 with 5.13's..

got a 94 T/A that's lightly hit..but got into the innerfender support and
the radiator support..moved the pass side subframe over and down an inch..
apparently it's a Zillion #@ bucks to fix it on a frame rack..
I've got a fresh cammed-up LT1 and fresh beefed 4L60E and 12-bolt
to go in something..need a fast ride for the Power Tour..ya Know..?!..LOL..
so I'm shopping for a roller..or bad motor/tranny F-body car..may even do V-6
switch..
I seem to keep missing out on all the deals..regardless..with time runnin out..

so..How've you been..?!..

I did the conversion on mine, just make try and get the same year LT1 as your car is right now, I put a 97 Camaro LT1 drivetrain in my 94 Camaro 3.4L and it was totally outrageous, hahaha
not only was the dash completely different and wouldn't sync, I had to have parts of my harness custom fabbed, had to change over ALL the plumbing and electrical stuff, big pain, big pain... just make sure you do a TON of homework before you spend a single penny.

Sounds great - After I asked that I remembered the red car was an OBD2 so I figured you got another one. Glad you're going to the power tour again. I'll try to stop by when you are in Madison or thereabouts. Good luck with the BBC project.
