Tune-up

My car is in need of a tune-up. I am gonna get new plugs and wires, o2 sensors, but what else should be replaced. My bro drove my car today and said it is much more sluggish than his. Any suggestions?

Well, it sounds like you got a good start on what to get...but what year is your car? How many miles?

If it is Pre-'97, I'd say it is definately due a transmission fluid/filter change and rear-end dope change. Of course, don't forget to change your oil too...

While doing the routine maintenance on it, you should probably go ahead and check your brakes, hoses, belt, etc.

I would also recommend getting a bottle of some fuel injector cleaner (Lucas preferred). You first want to make sure your car is in tip-top maintenance order before worrying about going faster...

Also, since winter is coming up, it probably wouldn't hurt to flush out your cooling system and put fresh coolant in it.

That covers most points...

Fresh plugs and wires are always good.

Don't overlook your air filter and fuel filter. Those two, if clogged enough, can cause sluggish acceleration and decreased fuel economy.

Might as well change the PCV valve too...for all three filters, it shouldn't cost more than $20.
