some V6s Qs

alright

1) how similar are the bell housing patterns on a 3.4 and the later 3.8 in the camaros?

2) only answer if you know for sure please, are the 3.8 bolt patterns the same for the fwd cars and the rwd cars..

i have a fwd motor and i need to know if i could use a 3.8 or a 3.4 bell housing and/or transmission with the motor, i dont want to call junkyards becuase as soon as they hear camaro everything goes up 50% i am just needing to know if the bolt pattern for the trans is the same

The bolt patterns between the 3.4 and the 3.8 are not the same. The 3.4 is a 60º block, where as the 3.8 is a 90º block.

half true, the 3.4 is a 60* and the 38 is a 90*, but they both have the same bellhousing,60* pattern, but the starter is on a diferent side on each motor so you need a 3.4 bellhouse with a 3.4,and a 3.8 bellhouse with a 3.8
