Lightbulb Plentum spacer

I was thinking about taking my 2.8 plentum and putting a machined out peace of 3/8'' thick plastic between the top plentum and the intake runners (not the intake manifold).
The EGR is gone so the plastic won't get burned.
Any one ever herd of this on a V6 before?

Things I did to my 2.8 that helped:

Remove the upper and lower plenum. Yes you need to remove the injector rail do not worry.

1. Clean it
2. Gasket match it
3. Gasket match the TB
4. Powder coat or paint both parts

Nice small gain.... Also if you haven't done it yet add a new timming chain to your 2.8 ASAP. I tossed a double rolelr in mine, the Coyles one and it rocked.
