4.10's are alot for your car.....You know how much I gained from going to 3.23's to 3.73's? .05 of a second. Big gain there. Most people get .2-.3 tenths from a tq.

Have you dynoed your car yet...or are you figuring out your peak power via GM specs? Your saying that since your car broke up 300 ft from the end of the track, that cost you almost 1 second. So let's say it hit the rev limiter around 75-80 MPH, you stayed into it right...so you would have lost around .2-.3 tenths, not a second.

Skinnies help sometimes...I have seen cars run the same with skinnies or stock tires...do you have the stock 15" or 16" rim/tire combo? Normally a 15" rim/tire combo is not very heavy, even stock.

Just because you put parts on your car does not make it faster.

Dude, I've owned a 3800 V6 Firebird so it has nothing to do with having a negative attitude toward v6 cars. It has everything to do with being realistic. If you think he's got a great chance at beating him, fine, but in the meantime I'm just helping to give a reality check...

96fbirdA4,
u are a perfect example, i would think that the almighty LS1 would be able to do a little better than a 13.7 (what u ran)! STOCK. u are more than stock. so, like i said....the v6 should be a low 14 sec car and the TA driver STOCK (bad driver) should run about the same. i am failing to see why this is so hard to comprehend.

My car isn't very representative of the LS1 population. Aside from being in a major accident with frame damage and having a salvage title (see website for pics), I've had some problems getting the engine to run without KR.

Think about it, a car with my mods only putting out 308rwtq. Should be a little higher than that don't you think? Especially when most other LS1's (98's included) dyno well over 315rwtq bone stock...

If he beats him, fine, no skin off my back.

Besides, I never claimed to be even a decent driver

if he's got an automatic its pretty hard for him not to shift at the exact right points in the rpm band while if your a manual it takes a professional to hit it right everytime to get the max hp/tq
I thought Y87 was the RPO fir that package on Camaros...

On Firebirds isn't it W68?

Y87 is the performance package for Camaro or Firebird. W68 is the sport appearance package firebird code.

I have a 98 Camaro v6 and I have beat an RS and mustang GTs so sometimes It does have to do with the driver but hell Ive been beat by a civic too so you never know. "Civic had NOS"

Keep in mind that some of the 5.0 Mustangs only had like 215hp and some 3rd gen RS Camaro's had less than that, definitely 4th Gen V6 Camaro competition. A stock LS1 has a solid 120rwhp advantage on a stock 3800 V6, but anything can happen on the street...

Wow.. I need some popcorn.. keep it up guys.. this is the most entertainment I have seen today.. LOL.

But one question.. if you think the TA will run 13.7-14.0 and your hoping the v6 will run 13.9-14.3.. where is the confidence coming from? Just looking at the mean values of the two numbers you are looking at 13.85 and 14.1. If you are just wanting to know if it will be a close race then who knows.. maybe.. but you will lose regardless.
