i hoping to run 13.9-14.2. now that i have removeds my govener i think it is possible. you must keep in mind he has never been to the track and he doesnt think weight matters so he will carring a lot of weight that he doesnt need.

I'm not trying to down you but you won't see 13s with your mods without any engine work. 14.3-14.6 is your best bet.

good lord man, i didnt think that there would all these negative responses on the v6 section! PLEASE, look at his mods. i know both of the drivers and will break it down for u.

98 V6
has a 3,800 VIG stall, exhaust, ported TB,ram air, rebuilt tranny,4.10 gear and other free mods and will be running on DR's
realistacly should run 13.9-14.3

99 TA
BONE STOCK A4. HORRIBLE driver,2 15" subwoofers in back, running 315 17" tires
should run 13.7-14.0

should be a close race. i think u guys need to look at the situation a little better.

Hey man, hate to burst your bubble, but that V6 MIGHT be good for a 14.5 or so.Don't expect too much, that's not a lot of mods. Also I am a sucky driver and my first night at the track with my '98 Z A4 on SUCKY tires I ran a best of 9.1 in the 1/8th.That's somewhere around a 14.0 or so.The TA will smoke the V6 man, sorry.I am all for modding V6's and I want another one to replace my old 3.4,but let's be real.Get a blower or some juice, heck even some internal work and then it'll be a different story. But hey, please post the results!

the big TC and 4.10s will definately be on the v6's side...id say first pass it may be possible if the v6 runs a picture perfect run...like a 14.1-14.3...and teh LS1 spins like a biatch...but otherwise no....

oh , dont get me wrong... the TA will definately have to mess up for the v6 to win. but i have seend LS1's in the 14's plenty of times before. and since he has 2.73 gears, if he messes up he isnt going to catch up THAT fast. he will pull no doubt about it, but at least he doesnt have 3.42 or 3.73's. All im saying is, i havent talked to one person who had their best run being their first run at the track.

BTW, i ran against Pullmeovered tonight from a stop and HE BEAT MY *** off the line and kept pulling until i finally got traction at 60mph.

dont worry, we will have it on tape.

How do you get that the V6 will run a 14.1 with those mods?

Stall and gears optimize horsepower application, it does't add any.

With 4.10's (overkill) and a stall if it did run 15.7's it may now run 15.4's

no one expects the v6 to win, The LS1 probably has 120 HP more even with all the mods. He can't lose, all he has to do is push the pedal.

You guys are nuts 410s are the PERFECT for my car and with the big TC i'm in my peak torque range everytime i shift. my first run with just the 410s was a 15.7 BUT the last 300 ft i was bouncing off the govener that was screwed up bc of the gear change. i should have run a 14.9-15.0 that was almost a second better then my stock runs. i will be low 14s. by the way i will have drag radials and skinnies on and some minor weight reduction. the guy in the TA likes to add weight to his car not take it off. we will see who win.
