I have a friend that has a Ls1 Ta A4 and has never been to the track. i said i could take him on his first run. he isnt the best driver. what do you guys think. look in my sig for my mods.

Its not like he has a manual transmission which atleast requires some skill to drive optimally. I'm willing to bet that even if he hammers the accerlator from idle, he'll catch you pretty quick.

 

hehe since everyone is os negative, if it makes you feel any better I went head to head with a stock LS1 SS and it ran a 15.4.

I also went up agianst a 02 Saleen Mustang, yes a real one and it ran a 15.9

Also went up against a 6-speed lt1 TA, and he ran a 15.5.



Sooo.... if he had a manual, I may thin its possible, lots of bad dirvers but a A4? I think he will rape you bad driver or not.


If he asks you for any tips say yes, drive through the water it rinses the water off the tires, but don't spin them afterwards, that is only for drag tires, and say"see how everyone launches hard?, hear the civic reving to 6,000 rpms at launch you shoudl try to do the same thing"

ya you might be alright in 1st and 2nd gear but after that you'll be smoked by some car lengths, trust me...i gotta V6 5 speed y87 bird and i can hang till i have to get to 3rd then its bye bye birdie.

if he's got an automatic its pretty hard for him not to shift at the exact right points in the rpm band while if your a manual it takes a professional to hit it right everytime to get the max hp/tq

Well, what times did you run last time?

 

You're probably going to get unless you can run a low 14 at the least. The first time I ran my car at the track I turned a 14.6@102.7 with a sweet 2.4 60'. My car had 2.73 gears at the time.

You can't really know what to expect as far as what that guy is going to run. Some will run a mid 13 the very first time...

 

anything is possible, i mean the guy does have 4.10 and a massive tc i have seen many lt1 run 14.3-14.6 with nothing wrong, you guys have such negative attitudes toward v6 its disgusting

 

unless youre seeing mid 13's youre gonna get beat. Some Ls1's will run faster thats true but if he's inexperienced I would say don't try it unless your car can run a 13.8-13.9
