motors and computers

i had a 99 z-28 but sold it now i want another camaro, if i buy a v6 for insurance resones and put in a LS1 motor in it will the chassis be strong enough to handle more power, what will i have to do about the computer, coast, how good will it be, etc.

1. That's insurance fraud.

2. The chassis is the same V6 to V8, with some subtle differences in suspension (springs swaybar, etc...although certain V6 packages get you the swaybar from a V8, steering rack from a V8, etc. - Y87 package).

3. Major issues: computer, engine, transmission, fueling.

4. You can find all the infomation you need at www.firebirdv6.com. Do a search for Magnus' LS1 swap. He did this with a 1997 V6 car. There are others there who swapped with Ls1-era cars.

Do a search there, or they will literally burn you at the stake...

oops sorry i thought you ownded both cars at the momemnt i meant a vin switch

you can do a search on insurance prices at places like insurancehotline.com or kenetix(sp?)

or maybe im just full of evil
