Mass Air Flow Sensor

Hey guys, my check engine light came on and my car started driving like it had an ignition problem. I bought an OBD II CAN Reader, the one like the shops have. It gave me a code for a mass air flow sensor. I checked out the price on this stupid little sensor and it was over $300!! However, the number on the sensor i had in the car was for a '95 Lumina 3.8L. Have you ever heard of people doing this before? Before the sensor went the car was running amazing. And considering both engines are a 3800 series II they should be the same right? Or will i get better performance with a Camaro sensor?

well your sensor could just be dirty and be setting off a code. Did you try and clean the sensor and seeing what kind of data you are getting before you went out and try to replace it. Did you check the wiering to the sensor and the pcm? Just because you have a code saying MAF sensor malfuction doesn't mean your sensor is shot and needs replacing.
