Re: m5 vs y87

Performance wise, there is little difference between a regular car and a Y87 car. The Y87 comes with a posi rear end, and 3.42 gears, but that's about it.

Re: m5 vs y87

I'd put my money on the 5-speed...

differences... 3.23 vs. 3.42s, but the 5-speed is geared more steeply then a Auto, so they are likely even or the 5-speed has an advantage with gear.

-5-speeds trap higher.
-5-speeds can stall up and feather a launch
-Y87 have factory LSD, and don't have to worry about mishifting or missing a gear.

Close race, differences are pretty negligible, but I think a 5-speed can get a better launch, and can shift faster.

on that it, would be the driver that wins the race, not the car.
