Idle problems 2 questions in one.

Every couple of days or so My idle jumps up to 1000-1200 rpms. No big deal but with the gas prices these days i would rather have a lower rpm of course. Any idea which sensor i should be playing with to find out my problem? I have a brand new Throttle position sensor installed so im fairly certain thats not going to be the problem. One other question.

Ever since i bought my car it has had low oil pressure. Just above the orange line at a traffic light. It runs fun at low oil pressure. Just wondering if this is a problem and if so what may be causing it? If the engine is running fine may is be a faulty reading? thanks to anyone that may want to give me assistance to these issues.

i have the same problems as you, i was just bout to post something with those exact questions. I have not replaced the sensor though. when i stop at lights my battery gauge flickers and the oil pressure drops, no matter how high i rev the oil pressure guage does not go past half. I hope this is a guage error??

Well the oil pressure thing is known to be off a little. My oil goes very low at lights. Just above the orange and the battery level drops for me but not near red. However as far as the idle question your having good luck because i had this thread up for a couple weeks, lots of people come look but no feed back

does the 3.4 use a MAF sensor? if so get some MAF cleaner, if you over oil the K&N it gets on the wires and the readings will be off causing a bad idle. check for a vac leaks. I use a propane torch and go over the VAC lines and listen for the idle to pick up. just the gas not lit, much cleaner than wd40 or stater fluid.

it will most likely be the idle air control valve
