PS: Also, SLP had nothing to do with the Camaro RS.
I thought that for 2002, SLP brought back the Camaro RS as well as the Firebird GT. At least thats what their website said back before August of this year, IIRC.

Anybody else remember seeing that on SLP's webpage way back when?

SLP added a few options to make the '02 RS (they also did the '02 Firebird GT). I recall looking at one when I was looking for my '01, SLP-added parts were on the window sticker. Check this out.

my point is again illustrated in that:

the tips in the image posted (look closely) are polished or chrome. they are sliver shiney in color, and NOT black like stock tips, like in this picture from SLP:

note - again - my point is that the picture is not of a stock exhaust system because the exhaust tips are CHROME and not black, like in the picture below: (look hard at the exhaust tip under the car, left corner)

http://www.slpeng.com/2001camarors/image/3.jpg

easiest way to point out that picture is, if real, not of a stock exhaust - aftermarket - and most likely is not real, because chrome exhaust tips never came stock from the factory.

just accept that a) your little bull**** run is not working, or b) you got a "rollback" car. and if you got a rollback, id go run a carfax report real quick and talk to the dealer. just cut out the act, it stopped being funny a coupla days ago..

OK, I've updated my web page at sounddomain.com.

http://www.sounddomain.com/id/camaro2k2

Everyone check it out. The tips are BLACK, not chrome at all. Hope this helps. Oh, yeah, BTW, you'll find the window stickers a little further down on the page.

The first pic doesn't even look similar to all the others.

Look at the first pic; the two "dots" inside the tip. Look at the other "dots" in the third pic. They look a hell of a lot darker and more spread apart. And in the 5th one there is only one dot. Photoshop fun eh?

Funniest thing... the close up was taken during the day, and the other pictures were taken this evening... OMG... IN THE DARK. Hence, they look a little darker, and you can't see the other dot in the tip because of a shadow... - Ryan

I also have a 2002 RS. My exhaust has the same baffle in the pipe. All RS Camaros have this SLP exhaust stock with that pipe mostly blocked. THEY ARE NOT NORMAL COUPES! RS is just a little different. There were 443 RS's made in 2002, all have stripes and that SLP exhaust with Z28 tips and RS badging. All of you saying it isn't stock, Email me at Chevy03983@aol.com and I will show you it is. You can also go to the SLP page and it will show you.

i don't get it. what if this was a factory defect? did anyone think of that? why would you guys just jump down someone's throat like that. it might still be a 'hoax' but if it is, it would be the dumbest one i've seen yet. why would this guy lie about something that makes his car WORSE off? I just don't see the motivation for it.

as far as the pictures, they look pretty consistant to me. i think this guy just wanted to find out if anyone else had this same problem, but instead of being reasonable we're about to lynch him for witchcraft.

like i said. i don't get it...

P.S. i don't know this guy, nore am i defending him. i'm just kinda surprised at the way this whole thing as developed. "Because it is unlikely, it is not possible. GM is infalible." wow.

Thanks Morb|d, you've pretty much hit the nail on the head. I hadn't considered it being a defect, but my Camaro isn't the only one like this for the 2002 model year. I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen this, the guy above you says he has a 2002 Camaro RS that is also blocked like mine. That makes at least 3 of us....

interesting how these people that know each other or have the blocked off pipe have so few posts. The car with the infinity's and blue headlight illuminaters is nice though.
