99 firebird V-6 issues

My daughters 99 firebird has a problem while driving, the oil pressure and amp gauges bounce around and the car seems to be missing. No SES is showing. Tried higher octane fuels, and a new fuel filter. The car stubbles worse up hills. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 99 firebird V-6 issues

I would do a scan to check for codes. The check engine bulb could be burned out. Is it really missing with bad vibrations and all or just having a general loss of power? I had a clogged cat that resulted in power loss that was only really noticeable when you got on it or went up hills. I also had my share of misfire issues due to wires that had melted/cracked and were shorting out.

The ses light is out, I scanned it. Showed a misfire on the #6 cylinder. It was a bad coil pack. Thanks.
