Your an idiot. Of course the intrepid is faster. Auto vs. manual is not that big of a deal. Unless that guy has something which ads 80 more hp, either:

1) your car is ****edup up and slow

2) You have no clue how to drive manual.

Quick denying the facts here.

Doesn't matter. They weigh the same and the intrepid has 44 more hp. Just being an auto won't make a 44 hp difference.

Re: z28 vs R/T???

Yea but even at that, theier a non-turboed, V6 car. That weighs almost as much as a camaro I believe. They dont make half the torque and have a ****ty powerband. I wish I knew for sure what motors they ran in them/how many horsepower they are. I didnt think they got the same motor as a 300GT but maybe they do. Even at that though, they are only like 200-215HP ...

first of all, who are you calling an idiot? and wtf is your problem? secondly, an automatic rt runs 16.7 and manual rt runs 15.8 so manual on these cars knock off about a second. So, yes, it is a big deal that this car is a stick.
I only posted here because there is an Rt around here thats suppose to run 14.6 with only CAI/Exhaust and chip, where z28 runs 14.2 brand new. I know that running 14s with only these mods sound bs and thats why I was looking for comments on these cars.

Re: z28 vs R/T???

It is BS.

With a good driver it will go a 15.8 stock.

Even with a complete exhaust, headers, no cats, good mufflers, he is only going to gain 20-25 horsepower. And MAYBE 8-10 from the CAI. Maybe another 5 from the chip. Many chips only make money, not horsepower.

Realistically, this car is probably at 30 horses more than stock. And that is if he even has headers on it. Does anyone even make headers for this car? No idiot would go through the time and effort to have a custom set of headers fabricated for a car like that.

So really, I would bet that he is making no more than 20 HP at stock.

Also, what you read about the times on them are definatly wrong. 9 times out of 10, auto vs. manual makes nearly no difference at all. One of the only vehicles I can think of that is significantly slower in an auto is a AOD 5.0 Mustang.

Bottom line is that:

This kid pulls his dick. His car is not as fast and furious as he thinks it is

You need better tires.

And you need to drive the car longer to get better at launching and such.

Just curious where are you shifting at RPM wise? On a near stock car, even with some good bolt ons, you shouldnt be shifting more than just a hair past solid red on the tach. Definatly dont spin it up to 6K ... Even with my mods, I shift at 5800.

Also, you need new tires, good ones, you shouldnt spin it through first and second with good tires inless you deliberetly tried too.

And the biggest part of the race is coming off the line.

A Stratus R/T beat an auto 04 MGT? A snowball would have a better chance in hell than this happening.

Yea the GT's are finally pickin up, they run like stock LT1 times ... maybe even a little better? I cant believe that a Stratus R/T could ever give one a run with those mods. Maybe he is spraying on you guys and you dont know about it or something...

Re: z28 vs R/T???

I myself am the owner of a 2003 stratus r/t and a 2002 camaro ss. I know the differences between the two so trust me on this. The stratus is a dog. Those cars have no go. I've seen much worse in other cars, but they are by no means any kind of competitor in a street race.
