i just love this quote

I'm glad you love it. RWD makes sense on an fbody for speed, yes, but not for handling. Considering our cars' height, weight, semi-skinny tires, lack of balance, spongy suspension, and unibody, among the list of other problems working against its handling properties, OUR CARS (meaning fbodies with stock suspensions, this does not mean ALL rear wheel drive cars), the RWD is not ideal for handling.

Pull it out of context as much as you like, but I think most people understood what I meant.

you dont know what youre talking about and with every post you make you lose a tremendous amount of credability. Keep posting youre making yourself look like an *** who cant drive.

P.S- Im almost positive that just about every performance car on the road today has a unibody.Which dont?

Birchman,

We are not saying that the F-body is the best handling car in the world. The problem is that people bad mouth the F-body without realizing how good the F-body really is for handling. It sounds like you have bought into this misconception. In stock form, it is still a good performer. Not the best, but still good. Yes, there are a few sport compacts that are better stock. Just remember, no matter what car you are talking about, you can always find something better. The F-body can also be made an awesome handler with very few mods.

The F-body is a great all around performer. It is not just built for straight line acceleration. If it was, it would have struts for the front two wheels instead of coilovers. It would also not have such a good weight distribution.

There are better handling cars out there than the F-body. No doubt. The problem I have with many of your comments is that they are plain wrong. We all love our F-bodies, but believe me, we will point out their problems too. The more comments you make, the more it becomes clear that you really need to read up on how a car handles, and what makes a car good in the twisties.

Peace.

Dan

I thought my first sports car (85 300 turbo) was the best handling car in the world until I bought a 944. Thought it was awesome till I got a z51 vette.....thought it was awesome till I got a Supra TT...etc. etc. It's all perspective man. The Z's competent, but it's just not built to be a corner carver. If you could get Vette power and near Vette handling for $25k, why get a Vette?

i'm pretty sure the vette has a full frame, although "x" configured. so that would mean that the caddy does, as well.

i wasnt aware of the Corvette being full framed. The early 60's impalas had an "X" frame, they are notorious for twisting. What about all the other cars mentioned are any of them full framed?? i coulda swore i read somewhere that the Crown Victory is the only auto. built with a full frame. Can someone confirm the corvettes frame and others as well???
