Weird race between LT1 and a LS1.
Re: Weird race between LT1 and a LS1.
i think its a factory freak, b/c I havent seen too many other LS1's with such minor mods pull off 113. He is running 18" Y2k C5 rims right now, which are holding him back from getting into the mid 12's, but I think he is going to switch over to DR's next year so that he can make use of the power. We are both spraying next year too <GRIN>.

Re: Weird race between LT1 and a LS1.
its not too surprising that you held off an ls1 with headers on your lt1 my lt1 is basically stock except for an SLP intake and a hooker catback and i put down 270.9 at the rear wheels
i havn't had the car for very long but have gotten into with a few ls1's one was a 98 T/A with cold air and catback exhaust no cats it was an A4 with 2.73's and from i dig i got him off the line he reeled me in and got about half a car on me until he hit third gear and his car pretty much died and i passed him again
another ls1 i raced was my buddy's 00 Z28 A4 3.23's with a fresh motor (7000 miles) from a dig i got a small jump and by about 60-70 he started to very slowly pull by me we took it about 110-120 and he didn't have more than a car and a half on me
it really doesn't surprise me that a good running lt1 with headers can beat a ls1 a good running lt1 is not too far off from a mediocre running ls1 i mean i put down about 271 hp and a medicre ls1 might only put down 280-300 at the wheels it really comes down to the driver it those situations

270 rwhp is really strong for what you have done!! how many miles do you have on it?

Re: Weird race between LT1 and a LS1.
at the time of the dyno which was last week i had just about 71,000 miles on it. all it has done is SLP cold air intake, hooker catback, updated elbow for the vented dynaspark distributor, air foil (probably does nothing) but otherwise its dead stock it is an m6 which helps if you havn't already i posted my dyno sheet on the link at the bottom of my sig
