Walked a GTO on the freeway....

Yesterday I was coming home , and rolled up on a 5.7 GTO on the freeway. The guy had specialized plated..... DA BOSSS . Anyway, i believe it was an auto. I dropped to fourth at 70 and punched it next to him. He looked over, and jumped . I could have easily went to 3rd at that speed, but with my ****ty clutch, it will start slipping on the spray on a 3 4 shift......I pulled hard instantly on him and had about 6 on him to 120.....I jumped over a couple lanes and slowed down to give him a thumbs up when he came by, but he just blew by me at 100 +....... Sore loser

you should have run him off bottle for one...make it more of a race..and what is up with your nitrous pass? did u you try and spray out of the whole on street tires or something?

Yes I did. On bald street tires. Then the clutch started slipping in fourth. Bottle pressure was 750-800 psi.. I'm getting ready to put in a SPEC stage 2 clutch and some kind of drag radial/slick. Hoping to go 112-114 on the mods in my sig.

I would have run the GTSlow again, but when I slowed down he just kept on going, and I got to my exit.

definitely should have done it w/o nitrous, then again he did the angry flyby so you didn't get a chance. Would have been a good race, i'm sure he would have pulled on you too.

Yeah, the '05 - '06 GTO's have the 6.0l LS2 I believe. From what I've heard they run a lot better than the first couple years of that body. I've yet to race one of the 6.0's yet.

GTslow? Isn't that kind of stupid considering that without NOS, any year GTO will stomp you, and with your 150 shot, a GTO with a 100 shot like mine will still stomp you? In fact, I'm more than a full second faster than your "slomaro"

Firebird buddy, not camaro. And I doubt it would stomp me. Considering I was door to door with more than one overrated GTO when my car was stock. So your GTO puts down 25 RWHP more than my car. It also weighs 200-300 pounds more. I love it when people post there "future mods" like it really makes your car any faster now. Id put money on it that my LE3 383 on my engine stand will be in my car long before your "Heads and cam Coming" mod in your sig, and you don't see me advertising it to anyone. Just go flame someone else bitch

yes the 04 gto's with the ls1 are dogs, they run 13.8's stock...ls2 is def a big improvement but still no match for a vette, and a decently modded ls1 f body has got em under wraps

Learn something before talking.....please. Maybe automatics with bald tires and cross-eyed drivers average 13.8's, but head over to LS1GTO.com to see what a properly driven "dog" can really run. There's 2 or 3 members over there that have turned 13.1 in an 04. I've run 13.3 w/only a CAI.

<I was door to door with more than one overrated GTO when my car was stock.>

So basically what you're saying is that your Lt1 ran side by side with LS1's when it was SLOWER than it is now!? Wtf? You only run 13.8@100 WITH your mods! How do you got the ***** to say the GTO is over-rated?? I turned 13.3's a week after I got it. I'm running 12.5's@114 w/only a 100 shot. I put down 319 with only a CAI. Are you trying to tell me that your Lt1 with a chip, mild exhaust work and rockers is putting down almost 300 rwhp? Cause it'd have to be to be within 25 hp of the LS1 like you claim. But if that's the case, then why are you only trapping 100 mph? Oh, that's right, cause you're full of ****. Just a word of advice: It's not flaming if it's true.

Oh, and btw, the future mods are now in the past...h/c was done in March.

Dogs? A stock 93 ~ 97 F-Body would be doing very well to run a 13.8 stock. Most LT1s fall into the 13.9 ~ 14.1 time range. So are you telling me the LT1 F-Bodies were all dogs?!?!?! I don't believe the LT1 cars were dogs, but you're pretty much telling us that.

BTW, I have walked more than a few modded LT1s with my GTO. I have raced a few LS1 F-Bodies, and no matter who won, it wasn't a slaughter. My dog seems to be able to hold its own.

Re: Walked a GTO on the freeway....

Anyways, this has gotten blown out of proportion. Yes, I went 13.9 @ 100 when the car was stock. The times in my sig was with a fried plug wire and slipping clutch, which I have not fixed yet. It's funny how the thread starts as a kill story, and everyone with a GTO pipes up like they were there. I never said all GTO's are slow. I said the ones I've raced are. And as far as I'm concerned the nitrous is the power adder of my combo, just like someone that has a blower or turbo. To me a power adder is a power adder. How many times have you told someone to pull their blower off and they'd gets smoked?

Yeah, my times are off some for the reasons I stated above. And yes I put down 293RWHP and 332RWFP. I could care less what a bunch of paranoid whiny *** kids on an internet form have to say anyway.

You never said they were slow? You called them GTslows, and over-rated. That's what pissed me off. Other than that, we've got no problem.

Re: Walked a GTO on the freeway....

Then lets just put this to rest. I personally have no problem with the GTO or any other car for that matter..........Except the ricers that is. I'm not a cocky person, nor do I think that my car is the fastest thing around. Hell, I dont even have the fastest car in my driveway. That would go to my roommate and his turbo 5.0 . If anyone's car is faster than mine, I always say more power to you, and usually give them props no matter what it is.
