Volvo turbo-R sedan Vs my 95 LT1

I was in traffic the other day getting dogged by a younger guy driving a newer tweaked out Volvo Turbo-R sedan. He was all over my bumper and I watched him zig zag through traffic to get behind me. My 95 has nothing for mods but CAI and Hypertech tuning, it even has the lame 2:73 rear end gears. Well as luck would have it, at the perfect light (with a great 1/4 mile plus straightaway after it) we end up getting both lanes at the red light. As we are rolling up to the light side-by-side it turns green. We were both going about 20, and thanks to the rolling start I didn't spin a bit. I jumped out to a full car length at first. He closed the gap, but never was able to pass me or get along side me. We ran into traffic and eventually catch another red light. At the next light he rolls down his window and informs me he would have beat me, "but he blew a shift". I asked if he tweaked the turbo, and he said "Oh yeah I have a manual boost control and an aftermarket intercooler, blah blah blah" I said I didn't even turn off my AC, and I haven't modded my car at all yet, and "it's paid for". He laughed for a second, then it hit him he paid a ton for a car that almost beat mine. He drove off really fast in ricer fly by mode. Kinda funny at the time.

Any idea what year or model? They can run anything from 13s to 15s, all with the R badge on the back. It just depends on whether it was a 1990 model or a 2005 as to what kind of power it really makes.

A modern S60R makes 300hp/295 tq and is AWD. It'd be entertaining from a stop. Meanwhile, the older turbo cars made around 200hp and tried to put it down via FWD which is never a good thing.

No, John I'm not all that literate in Volvo generations but it was newer looking. I would say no more than a few yrs old. It looked like a 5 series BMW sort of.
