11 second car is far from slow, though the driver might be a little

 

if i knew ahead of time id have to defend this post id cut and save every article i read on the car, but i didnt so here goes.

thats solely my opinion, as is most but not all the thread. if you want an apple, you will buy an apple. if you want a good fruit, and dont care about color or taste just price, the apple or orange will suit you. a true sportscar enthusiast that wants the car of his/her dreams will buy the z06 over the camaro and the gt over the cobra, yes, but for those who want a fast car that will beat an exotic without the high cost, cobra, camaro. you can mod either to beat the premier cars. bind may have been the wrong word, but i honestly believe they will lose some sales to the cobra if it anywhere near performs as close to a gt for the price savings. im not talking handling, just raw power.

never said its not. im just one of those people who if i had the $70k to spend on a car, would upgrade my camaro with some major mods to outrun a z06.

i know it doesnt, strickly talking drag racing on this one. one of the rumors i heard was the gt500 was supposed to be at 550hp, not 500. same hp as the gt. 5.4 supercharged is a nice engine. what happens when you see mods for the cobra but not the gt? which car is quicker then? i know you dont buy a gt for 1/4 racing, but it would **** me off if i spent $150k on a car and got my *** handled to me by the cheaper gt500.

that number was from a salesman in langhorne pa. mccafferty ford to be exact. he was careful to say proposed, as he assumed the cobra would be around $50k loaded. again, i didnt stockpile any articles, i dont about topic for that matter, but i could have sworn i seen in mt or c&d a guesstimated price in the same ballpark im quoting, but your right, only ford knows for sure now.

in the end, yes all the cars are apples to oranges to tangerines to whatever. some people will buy a car because they truely love that car, some will buy one in the hopes they can save money and still be top dog on the road.

 

sounded like a pretty damn good driver in the Z06. That had to be a 1-2 powershift (and a good one i must add) or 10% clutch at max. i couldn't hear the rest of the shifts, but I'd imagine thats a pro type driver, or one who practiced since the day he got the car. very good launches from the vette. The cobra guy had slow shifts in the first video. pretty sweet stuff. 450rwhp is sweet, but imagine how much better stuff goes on around the streets in the country. plenty of 600+rwhp cars out there willing to have some fun....only if we had video. bottom line, that car kicks *** and It's nice to finally see a vette being driven like it's supposed to and with a driver taking it to the max.

 

hmm big differance there, seeing the car has only been out a mtn or so...Actually it sounded like he fumbled a shift to me.

 

I saw that video on a local forum the other day. It's amazing to me how bad that Cobra got completely owned. I'm not looking forward to having a stock C6 Z06 blow my doors off when I get my car put back together

 

Yea there bad, was on vette forums awhile ago and they said there was a newbi running consistant lows 12's then some guys gave him a few launching/shifting tricks and the guy was running 11.8's hehe.

 

so when i get a 100 shot, i should be able to hold my own with them.

i owe you a beer antz. i showed my wife your comments, and shes more competetive than i. she upped my car "allowance" for the spring (pending everything gets done on the house) so i should be getting a tc, ls6 intake, nitrous and maybe lower end for a procharger. i will probably blow up my tranny and rear shortly after, so next fall will be the tranny rebuild and 12 bolt.
