There's a fuse or something you can pull to keep the muffler control baffles (or whatever they're called) open all the time. I've seen some examples so far of bone stock Z06s picking up ~20rwhp/rwtq from a preliminary tune alone (no other mods, and with beta tuning software).

I'll wager that with all bolt-ons and a great tune, these things will be putting 510-520rwhp to the ground. With a larger cam, 570-600rwhp will be possible in my opinion... the stock cam has crapomundo for duration and overlap for that many cubes. Just a feeling though.

It probably doesn't help that the cobra owner can't drive.

 

evan smith can drive that cobra and the z06 could have a handicapped 100 yr old lady driving it and thered be similar results.

 

by the sounds of the z06 shifting that guy wasnt exactly john lingenfelter either...So id say thats a push

 

pushing that z06 is the only way that cobra would win.

 

I think what made it look so bad is how long after the quarter mile they kept running. Clearly the Z06 runs like a SOB though, put a huge hurt on that cobra down low and up above 120mph. Damn...

I think the new Z06 is the sweetest car ever produced for a semi-affordable price. I can't think of a car I'd rather have...

 

^The Z06 took the Cobra pretty decent down-low, but did you see the Z06 starting to PULL AWAY from the Cobra at higher speeds

Good question...I dont think that 100 shot would do anything up top...maybe it would have slowed the pull down low a little bit
