A buddy of mine in NJ has an identical vette like that and it;s done by Cartek in NJ. heads, cam, full exhaust, upgraded clutch......she put down 454 HP to the rollers and thats N/A....verynice.....

 

yea theres a couple guys in my town along w/ the next town over w/ a few 9 and 10 second cartek c5 and z06's cars..havent seen any c6 models around yet except for 1 yellow z06 and a few base models

Yea, they do have a similar attitude to the terminator as a majority of the LS1.com members had about the LS1 when there was nothing around touching it in its price range... I like both companies equally, but this video should have proved something...The Cobra in the video was pretty modded and completely got blown away..and thats an understatement.

The "Tables have Turned" comment was towards the Cobra.. Not the GT. Even when the GT500 comes out. It's still going to own the Z06 in bang for the buck.

the GT500 for its price range and the z06 for its price.

i brought up the GT because a z06 performs similarly for a ton less.


theres a reason cars cost what they do.

when the shelby cobra 07? comes out, i doubt it will cheap. i think that will get owned too. stock for stock ford put themselves into the same bind gm did that helped cause the f body demise.

chevy=camaro was as fast or close enough to a corvette to steal sales except die hard vette lovers.

ford= $150k+ (seen one sell for cose to $200k) gt that (performs/will perform) drives the same as the competitions $70k model, and proposed new cobra. few articles state the cobra had to be scaled back due to overwhelming complaints from the few gt owners pissed they bought the premier ford sportscar to potentially lose to its newer cheaper counterpart (07 cobra $45k base price, proposed)

 

How is Ford in a "bind"? The new Mustang is selling like hotcakes and the Shelby GT500 will fly off of showroom floors for at least the first year it is in production (planned three year production).
I doubt this very seriously. To even propose that 'Vette shoppers decided to buy a Camaro instead is even more ludicrous than stating C6 Z06 shoppers would consider a GT500.

Well...I'm sure those shopping for GT's aren't shopping for Z06's. And IMO, the C6 Z06 is probably far and away the best performance "bang for the buck" out there right now.
You're really stretching if you're insinuating that the GT "drives" the same as the upcoming GT500. Unless I'm misinterpreting your comment.
Please point out these "articles". I haven't seen this anywhere. The two powerplants are rumored to share very few parts. Also, please provide a source for the "$45k base price, proposed". This still hasn't been finalized, and Ford has publicly stated, on numerous occasions, that the GT500 will be priced similarly to the '03/'04 Cobras.


Comparing GM's top-of-the-line, 2-seater, $70k sports car to Ford's 4-seater, ~$40k Pony car is comparing apples to oranges.
