I'll race him. But I won't have as good of chance if he has some mods. Some on this board will say there is no such thing as a factory freak.

last time i was at the track i seen 3 mach1 stangs running and all 3 drivers knew how to shift, one ran 13.8 another ran 13.9 then the last ran 13.7 with some tuning, he said he had some minor tuning.

Re: V6 Mustang will kill a Z28, but not a Mach 1

Honestly i think that they are both rather equally matched cars.

I was mistaken in thinking that Mach 1s were IRS. Honestly i have a ton of respect for Mach 1s. I think they are great motors, it just kinda makes me sick to see some guys on here thinking that they got a 13" c*ck just because they own a mid/high 13 second car that they havent touched a bolt on and daddy probably paid for.

So keep it civil. And to all you LS1 guys... *NEWSFLASH* ... THE LS1 CAN BE BEATEN.. sorry, had to do it.

As for fobdies being faster then mach1s, yes ls1 do dyno higher but i disagree with the statement that theyre better 1/4 mile cars. Go onto www.mach1registry.org and look at the stock 1/4 mile times. Ls1 guys seem to have trouble accepting the fact that the 2nd in the line up mustang can hang/beat fbodies.
You mean ls1s hang or beat mach 1s.The ls1 being slightly faster. If you think you can prove me wrong go right ahead.Has there been any stock mach 1s that have broke into 12 second land? Not that I know of.

I'm pretty sure there have been stock mach 1's in the 12's but i'm not positive. At least 13.0's

Have you personally been in the 12's with your car? Just wondering.

Does my sig say I own an ls1?noooooo it dont.Thats not my goal anyhow. My car is a daily driver so I want the right balance between power/and gas mileage.I want my car to be a mid to low 13 second car.Let me ask you,how many mach 1 did they produce in 03/04?maybe 2000 in the United States?

Is that a no on the 12 second run? My car could be daily driven (but I choose not to since I have a few other vehicles) with only 456rwhp and I get great gas mileage so I'm not sure where you're getting this information from. Can you expand a little bit on this subject for me please? I'm into a learning mode today and hoping that you can teach me something new.

I could care less about the mach 1 to be honest with you. I'm still waiting patiently on the information about power vs. gas mileage and hoping you can school me a little bit. Come on, I know you can do it I have faith in you

What do you consider great gas mileage with your GT?

I doubt it with his mods. What does his car have to do with the fact that Mach 1s don't run 12s bone stock and the LS1 is slightly faster stock for stock? What kind of mileage do you get in that Stang? I get about 20 all around, 1/2 in town and 1/2 freeway.

Re: V6 Mustang will kill a Z28, but not a Mach 1

Getting into the 12s is cake on the stock engine. Getting into 12s on street tires cant be done. Ive seen people with badass clutches and slicks with a 12 bolt run mid 12s on a BONE stock LS1 engine. The car was not bone stock, but the engine was. They were also doing 5k rpm drops on ET Drags.

Im sure there have been some Mach 1s that have gotten into the 12 second territory on some drag radials and a good driver, along with LS1s.

And for the record... i get 22 mpg and i have 450 NA rwhp and i drive it everyday. I could even get better if i had a SC and a smaller cam. Gas mileage wise (M6 only) GM>Ford.

I don't know when this power vs. gas mileage topic came up, since I haven't read the entire thread... but here's my data point:

'02 Z06 - trip to Las Vegas from Vista, Ca. Mostly drove the speed limit plus a few mph both ways... 65 or 70 mph, meaning my actual speed was between high 60's and mid 70's. Got ~28 miles/gallon round trip (about 600 miles) including some city travel in Las Vegas. I have no idea what Mustangs/Cobras get for MPG. A K&N filter, othewise stock 405Hp (crank). No dyno run to get RWHP.

Huh? I think that 12's have been done by bone stock LS1's? I am sure getting into 12's can be done on street tires. And the stock internal record is 11.4 or so.
