Those 05 Stangs sure look to be good competition for the LS1s that are still stock out there, but those numbers get smaller every day.
hmm, in my lt1, i can get up to 65 in 2nd
although i'm not sure how much power it's making at that point (probably dropping off slightly by then)

I have a few things done in the engine bay. It pulls very solid to 7000rpm.

I can read and comprehend just fine! I was simply stating that second gear would have been a much better choice at 45 MPH. What are the rpm's in third gear at 45 MPH? I'm guesing around 3200 or so, wheras second gear is about 4500 RPM. I'm not bashing on the Mustang. Just saying that if he pulled ahead by three cars starting out in third, then he would most likely pull ahead more if he started in a lower gear. I'm sure that once the Mustangs get a few miles on them they'll run a little better than where they are now. Mid-high 13's out of a bone stock car(Mustang) is very respectable IMO. I already knew that, but thanks for reminding me. I guess I should have skipped those four years of Automotive Technology and just came straight to you with all my automotive questions.

Re: Toyed with 05 gt.

I raced one last Sunday at the track. He got his best time against me, a 13.75 @ 100.4. It was a manual with less than 100 miles. I was impressed. The owner was real cool and let everyone check it out in staging. The only thing I didn't like was the rim/tire selection. Too narrow and tall! The intake manifold looks an awful lot like a LS1.

Re: Toyed with 05 gt.

I saw a 05GT crash in front of me. It was raining on this parkway by my house. I am driving about 50-60 being careful cause our cars in the rain aint fun. So this GT comes up next to me revs, i rev back, he punches it, i slowly punch it and i put a few car lenghts on him. i was not impressed. So then he comes up again and revs again and this time its on a slight curve (can u see where this is going) he revs, i DONT rev back cause i see the turn, he POUNDS on it anyway, and his tail starts to lose it, he turning sideways in front of me than catches a little and hits the middle divder like TOTALLING the car seriously, i went back on the other sied and saw the car is was trashed, i felt bad cause he just bought the car, then i was like f*uckin a*shole he was dumb for his actions very dumb. I guess he never drove a RWD car before..

I had to share that with everyone.

did you find out if he was alright?

never race in the rain, imo
even if it's a straight shot and you're on a drought like me (haven't raced anybody in forever)
i know it's tempting, but just say no

Your username indicates to me that you have one fast camaro. Just how fast?

I don't care what anyone here says and whether it's a Rustang, Camaro, Firehawk, whatever.... if it's running 13's out of the box ---- it's pretty darn quick for a street car.
